Today
I attended my first meeting, as a 'visitor', to decide
whether I'd like to join. Having ended the meeting
with three prospective new clients, and a lot of very
excited interest. I'm in! Wrap it, I'll take it!

I
just thought that you might like to know that I have just
totalled up the amount of revenue TipTop generated through
Athena referrals from June 2005 to end of June 2006 (my 1st
year) and it came to: £24,740.12p.
Needless to say, I will be renewing my membership this year!

It
was lovely to meet you today and I really did enjoy the
meeting. Having been really apprehensive about the whole
networking idea it was great to meet so many nice ladies in
such a relaxed environment and to see networking happening
naturally without any pressure.

Poonam is the Athena
Network Regional Director for the
East Berkshire region.
Poonam started her career in consumable
sales where she quickly got a reputation
for being able to sell ice to the
Eskimos but without them realising it!
She then moved to BT to start her varied
career which covered sales, training,
new product development and marketing
management.
After
12 years and 3 children later, Poonam
decided that she wanted to refocus her
life and be a lady of leisure for a
while. Unfortunately, the novelty soon
wore off and she was eager to work again
but this time for herself.
A qualified Chartered Institute of
Marketing professional, Poonam has been
an independent Marketing Consultant ever
since.
A chance meeting provided an opportunity
to explore her creative side and Poonam
started up Bramare where she designs and
retails exquisitely handmade handbags (www.bramare.net).
Through the very nature of her
businesses Poonam meets many women
both in business and personally.
Networking has brought her not only
work, but genuine friends as well.
Poonam
is passionate about networking in The
Athena Way as she can see not only the
opportunities it can bring other
business women, but also the support
system and personal development it
promotes which is often missed when
leaving the corporate world.
