Jo Lucas is Regional Director of the
Athena Network for Cambridge. Her career
has included training and development
both with organisations and individuals
and has been shaped by her networks and
serendipitous contacts.
She has worked in the social care field
for the last 30 years, with small
organisations and businesses both in the
UK and internationally. For 6 years she
was Chief Executive of a small charity
with a turnover of £0.5 million.
Jo is interested in the development of
social firms that offer people with
disabilities real employment in
successful businesses.
Jo went freelance in 2004 and quickly
realised that her business was growing
solely through informal networking.
Contracts have included mentoring, staff
training and development, implementing
organisational change, project design
and management and evaluation and
monitoring.
Jo discovered the joys of networking and
then found The Athena Network which has
helped her to develop these skills. She
knows that networking amongst women is
critical to business growth as it offers
a great place to develop skills and make
relationships with others in business
locally. The Athena Network offers a
great opportunity to meet up with like
minded people, to share ideas and
experiences, learn new skills and have
some fun.
