Karen Fowler
With a Marketing, Management Sciences BSc degree from Lancaster University under her belt, Karen’s career in marketing and product development has involved the international marketing of multinational organisations, primarily in the services sectors.
After more than 15 years in corporate marketing, Karen established Action Stations Marketing in 2000 to offer marketing services and business consultancy to a wide range of SMEs and corporate organizations, working with a network of associates. The company’s raison d’etre was, and still is, the provision of cost effective marketing programmes that deliver measurable results.
In 2008, Karen’s interest in helping SMEs grow led her to become Regional Director for The Athena Network. According to Karen, networking is a key element of effective marketing; it’s an essential skill that is underused by many businesses, large and small.
Apparently not content with just running her own business, Karen has taken up running distance: she has so far competed in 10km and 5km races for charity (including the Cancer Research Race for Life). Never one to keep still, she is also a keen tennis player and is captain of the Nirvana ladies doubles team in the Berkshire league!
