74 dynamic ladies enjoyed a fabulous Athena Regional Christmas lunch at The Compleat Angler on the 1st December.
This was a celebration of a very productive year with many fruitful connections being made, Strategic alliances formed, new business won and incredible success stories like our Maidenhead Athena member, Lynne Copp, winning the Brit Writers Award for her 1st book ‘Dancing Round The Handbags’ which is an inspired piece of coaching for all women an learning to dance to our own tune rather than always dancing to the tunes of others. Lynne’s publisher found her at The Athena Conference 2010.
We were brilliantly entertained by ‘The Flamin Dames’ – 2 lovely ladies and a keyboard who are a cross between Opera, Jazz and Comedy – they were sassy, sophisticated and very funny! Laurelle Rond, our own ‘Rock Chick’ sang and played guitar while 2 of our members performed a dance and Lynne Copp inspired us all with her talk as always.
We finished the day with a rousing and very precipitative ‘!2 Days of Christmas’!
The raffle and auction raised an incredible £1700 which is being split between the charities represented by 3 of our members – WheelPower, The Children’s Society and Brunel University.
All in all a roaring success and many new friendships forged! Roll on a very exciting 2012!!
